- What are my obligations?
As the insured or proposer, you are required to purchase insurance on the basis of Utmost Good Faith. This means you must provide a complete and accurate description of the insured subject, including its nature, value, and locations. Failure to provide accurate information or any misrepresentation may result in the contract of insurance being invalidated, void, or claims being repudiated.
- What is the Cancellation Policy?
The insured may cancel this policy at any time before the transport operator collects the shipment by providing written notice of such cancellation to Village Insurance. Please send your cancellation request to: info@villageinsurancedirect.com
Such cancellation shall take effect immediately upon our receipt of your written notice.
(b) Chubb Hong Kong reserves the right to cancel this policy at any time, in any circumstances permitted by law, by giving the insured written notice at the address provided in the Evidence of Cover. Such cancellation shall take effect immediately upon the insured receiving such written notice unless otherwise provided by law.
- When will I receive my Insurance Certificate?
Great news – Village Insurance Digital allows you to complete this entire process in less than 5 minutes! Once payment has been successfully made, the Insurance Certificate/Evidence of Cover will be emailed to you at the email address provided.
- Are there additional charges?
No.
The final amount you pay for your Relocation Insurance is all-inclusive. This amount covers technology costs that help support Village Insurance Digital and our technology partner, ensuring you receive a smooth and efficient service.
- Who do I email if I have a complaint?
As your insurance broker, we’re here to assist if you have any issues. Please email your feedback to info@villageinsurancedirect.com.
Our duties to you include (a) handling complaints in a fair, timely, and appropriate manner; (b) ensuring complaints are promptly investigated and responded to; and (c) designating an officer to manage complaints.
- How to Make a Claim
To report any loss, theft, damage, or destruction of your property, you must notify Chubb Hong Kong in writing as soon as possible. You must provide this notice within five (5) days of the delivery of your property to the consigned address, or within five (5) days of the property being deemed lost. - Roles of Parties
Village Insurance, as your insurance broker, arranges and manages your insurance policy. Chubb Hong Kong is your insurance company and underwrites your shipment. Village Insurance is not liable for any failure of Chubb Hong Kong to pay claims in accordance with the policy terms and conditions (see Policy Wording). We are available to provide post-purchase advice, resolve claim disputes, and handle complaints.
Village Holdings Limited” (“Village Insurance”) acts on your behalf and is remunerated for its services by receipt of commission paid by insurers. Your agreement to proceed with this insurance transaction shall constitute your consent to the receipt of commission by Village Insurance. (IA Reg. No. FB1198).
